Quarantine Birthdays

Kindness comes in many forms. I ordered some flour from our local bakery (Moxie Bread Co in Louisville, CO) and mentioned I was making a cake for my birthday (3/31). When I picked up the order today, they gifted me a chopping board and a free pastry. How thoughtful! On my ride home, I saw a sign that said: “Kindness is contagious. Pass it on.”

A little hope comes in many forms. And tomorrow, it’s coming in the form of Chocolate Buttermilk Cake and a hike with my love. And we arranged a pickup dinner from our favorite restaurant, The Kitchen. And my ukulele comes tomorrow – what a gift!

Now, back to business. A raise in cases today – and a relief that our shelter in place was extended through the end of April to help health care workers nationwide. Thinking of all of our nurses, doctors and other care workers who are crushing it!
